Max Hospital License Cancelled

The Delhi Police today filed a status report on its probe into the death of twin babies at Shalimar Bagh Max hospital before a court here, which has directed that the investigation be conducted expeditiously.

Max Healthcare on Wednesday moved a "government authority" against the cancellation of licence of its hospital in Shalimar Bagh in north-west Delhi, even as it appealed to the DGHS to "reconsider" its decision.

The Delhi Medical Association (DMA) today termed the city government's decision to cancel the licence of Max Super Specialty Hospital in Shalimar Bagh over wrongly declaring dead a newborn as "irrational and autocratic".

The licence of an upscale Delhi hospital that found itself in the middle of a huge backlash after it incorrectly declared a newborn dead was cancelled today. Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh cannot take new patients for now, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said.
