The Supreme Court today said it will take a call on passing directions for improving the conditions of mental hospitals in the country and setting up more of them, only after a pending bill on the issue gets the parliament's nod.

A provincial civil services officer, Rinku Singh Rahi, who launched his hunger strike in Lucknow on Monday demanding a probe into charges of corruption in state-run schemes was whisked away by the police from the dharna site and admitted to the psychiatric ward of the medical college in the city.
