Cattle Smuggling, Slaughter To Be Punishable Under National Security Act, Gangsters Act

The Uttar Pradesh Police today issued a terse warning that those involved in cow slaughter and illegal transport of milch animals will be booked under the stringent National Security Act and Gangsters Act. The directive has been conveyed to all district police chiefs by the state Director General of Police Sulkhan Singh.

Dairy farmers celebrate 'Maattu Pongal'

"Maattu Pongal", the festival dedicated to the care and welfare of cattle, was celebrated in the union territory with special poojas to the milch animals. Painting the horns cattle owners also took their animals for a ride in the villages.
