The Assam police on Sunday said they have arrested YouTuber and singer Altaf Hossain, known for his controversial version of Bihu songs, for allegedly inciting hostility against the state's ethnic communities through his song.

Terming polygamy, child marriage and other subjects related to 'Miya' community as non-issues in Lok Sabha elections, Assam CM Himanta Sarma claimed he was raising these problems as he wants social transformation of minorities, not their votes.
