Police today detained several people for trying to organise Jallikattu despite a ban on the sport in place. Several people were detained at Mudakathan, Alanganallur, Palamedu and Vilangudi in Madurai district, at Nallampatti in Dindigul district and Pottuchavadi inThanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.
