Claiming that its legislator Dinesh Mohaniya was arrested on false charges, Delhi's ruling AAP today alleged that it was a "pressure tactic" by the Centre and BJP to divert attention from NDMC estate officer MM Khan's murder case and "save" Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and lawmaker Maheish Girri.

Amid controversy over a letter issued from the Lieutenant Governor to the NDMC on May 17 in a case involving the civic body officer MM Khan a day after his murder, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's office today said the Lieutenant Governor forwarded the communication from BJP MP Maheish Girri without knowing of the "tragic death" of the officer.

Days after demanding the arrest of BJP lawmaker Maheish Girri over the murder of NDMC officer MM Khan, the Aam Aadmi Party said there was enough evidence to link Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to the case. The party has demanded that Mr Jung step down immediately and be placed under arrest.

A day after he broke his fast-unto -death, BJP Lawmaker Maheish Girri on Wednesday said he is considering filing a defamation suit against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for accusing him of being involved in the murder of NDMC estate officer M M Khan.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today dubbed the hunger strike of BJP lawmaker Maheish Girri outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence as a "drama" and alleged that Delhi Police is "shielding" him in the murder case of NDMC official MM Khan.
