Model Villages In Kerala

The Cabinet approved public private partnership mode for the rollout of BharatNet project for broadband services in villages in 16 states with viability gap funding of Rs. 19,041 crore, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

A total of 557 villages in Kerala would be declared as model villages in the next financial year. Seventeen village offices had already been announced as model village offices, which had been fully computerised and various services offered to people without delay, official sources said on Sunday.

In an effort to improve the standard of living of Dalits in the country, the Union Ministry of Science and Technology plans to develop model villages in eight states of India.
