A special CBI court in Mohali has convicted the then DSP, city, Dilbagh Singh and the then SHO Gurbachan Singh of Tarn Taran on Thursday for the extra-judicial killing of a fruit seller after abducting him from his residence in 1993.

Four gangsters were arrested in two separate encounters in Punjab today, the police said. While two were arrested in the Mohali district, the other two were taken into custody in the Tarn Taran district.

Two criminals were injured following an encounter with Punjab Police in Mohali on Saturday, said police.
