Lokpal Bill could be tabled in Rajya Sabha in the Monsoon Session

The anti-corruption Lokpal bill could be tabled in the Rajya Sabha in the current session of Parliament. "I am told that the select committee could probably give its report on Lokpal bill by September 3. If it happens, we will table the bill", Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal told reporters in New Delhi.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani today termed the violence in Assam "unprecedented" and ripped into the Congress-led government at the Centre for its handling of the issue. He even described the riots that have claimed over 70 lives in the last one month as the "greatest failure" of the UPA government.
