Monsoon Revival In September

After India experiencing the driest August since 1901, the Southwest Monsoon is expected to revive over the weekend bringing rainfall to central and southern parts of the country, the weather office said on Thursday.

Monsoon rains were 21 per cent above average in the week to September 12, the weather office said on Thursday, the third straight week of heavier than normal rains, abating the threat of a widespread drought in the country.
