Monsoon Withdrawal Delhi

The India Meteorological Department said today that the southwest monsoon has receded from Delhi, with the city receiving above normal rains during the season.

The southwest monsoon - which gave highly uneven rainfall this year - has withdrawn from Delhi, the Met department said on Thursday.

The withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon commenced on Wednesday and it receded from some parts of West Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Delhi Monsoon Update: The monsoon withdrew from the city on Wednesday. Delhi recorded 20 per cent less rainfall this season, the India Meteorological Department said. The wind system had reached the national capital on June 25, two days earlier than normal, and stayed five days longer than usual.

Terming the three new bills related to agriculture as "anti-farmer", Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today demanded that the Centre withdraw them, saying his party will vote against the bills in Parliament.

Delhi weather news: Monsoon is likely to stay longer in the national capital and start withdrawing only in the "initial days of October", an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday. The Monsoon had reached Delhi on June 25, two days earlier than normal.

The national capital on Sunday saw maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, and weather analysts say the mercury will hover around this for the next nine to ten days as the monsoon season begins to withdraw.
