The first man in two years to have scaled Mount Everest, Rafiq Shaikh Patel of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, has created quite a record. Rafiq also happens to be the first policeman from Maharashtra to have reached the peak of the highest mountain in the world.

A video that showed a BJP lawmaker from Uttarakhand brandishing a stick and appearing to aim at a policeman mounted on a horse caused outrage on Monday after it emerged that the horse had suffered multiple fractures in a leg.
