A group of Hindu extremists re-enacted the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday to celebrate the shocking incident that had sent the entire country into mourning on January 30, 1948. They also garlanded a statue of his assassin, Nathuram Godse, and distributed sweets to hail what they claimed was a watershed moment in the nation's history.
