Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Sunday voiced concern over reports of attacks on Keralites in Tamil Nadu over the Mullaperiyar dam row and requested his counterpart Jayalalithaa "to take firm action to contain the situation."

DMK president M Karunanidhi on Thursday wrote to President Prathiba Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi seeking their intervention in ensuring the safety of Tamils living in neighbouring Kerala in the wake of Mullaperiyar dam standoff.
