Mumbai Adds 3,520 Beds To Its Covid Fight As Cases Rise In Satellite Towns

Four, state-of-the-art, contactless field hospitals, with a total of 3,520 beds and 222 intensive care and acute care beds, were commissioned in Mumbai, increasing the city's capacity to fight the coronavirus disease even as its daily case growth date registered a slight decline and that of its satellite towns increased.

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope today said the Central committee has recommended an increase in the capacity of quarantine facility in Mumbai from 1,200 beds to 2,000, in light of the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.
