After 9 Years in Coma, Survivor of 2006 Mumbai Serial Train Blasts Gives Up

One of the survivors of the 2006 Mumbai train blasts, Parag Sawant died at a Mumbai hospital this morning. He was then 26 years old then, was injured in the 7/11 serial blasts on Mumbai's local trains and had been in coma for the past 9 years.

While yesterday marked the 19th anniversary of the gruesome 1993 serial blasts, which claimed over 200 lives and left over 700 injured, even today some of the survivors are battling its aftermath - life-altering physical injuries. Apart from crippling them for life, the blasts have forced several of them to lead a life of penury.

Rewarded for fighting terror, he will open a paan shop

Saleem Ahmed, survivor hero of the Jama Masjid firing incident, who shooed-away terrorists by pelting them with stones while they were firing at some Taiwanese tourists on September 19, 2010, is starting afresh. He is soon to open a paan shop in Ghazipur Murga Mandi area with the reward money he received from various organisations.
