CCTV Cameras to be Installed in Shelter Homes Soon: Bombay High Court

With an increase in number of incidents where children and women in state-run shelter homes are sexually and physically abused, the Maharashtra government today told the Bombay High Court that it will soon install CCTV cameras in all such facilities.

A 17-year-old boy who was arrested for theft and sent to a juvenile home in Mumbai earlier this month, died after he was allegedly sexually assaulted and brutally beaten up by fellow inmates, including an adult.

Juvenile accused of second Shakti Mills gang-rape identified

The minor who was arrested in connection with the July 31st gang-rape of a 19-year-old woman at the Shakti Mills compound in Mumbai has been identified positively by the woman and her friend who was with her on the night she was attacked. The minor was identified at the Dongri Remand Home where he is being held.
