One person was killed and over 45 injured in a head-on collision between two luxury buses at 4.30 am on Sunday, on the Pune-Satara highway leading to Khandala near Khambatki tunnel. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Shivaji Nikam, a resident of Indiranagar, Thane.

A speeding bus killed 50-year-old Hemangi Warangkar in Mumbai on Sunday. To make matters worse, jewellery worth Rs 50,000, which she was wearing, was allegedly stolen on the premises of St George's Hospital, where her body was sent for a post-mortem.
