A 24-year-old man climbed on the roof of a skywalk in Mumbai allegedly under the influence of drugs on Wednesday, said police.

The fire broke out in Behrampada slum, near the Bandra station. The main skywalk which connects Bandra East and Bandra station is engulfed in flames.

One person was injured after a portion of skywalk that was under repairs near Mumbai's Charni Road station, fell on him this evening, a senior civic official said.

The structure, touted by the MSRDC as 'unique in the country,' is all set to represent the latest innovations in architecture, with a 510 metre long walkway supported by stress rods suspended from a central tower, replete with four escalators and fancy LED lights.
