A minor fire broke out on the fifth floor of Times Square building in Mumbai's Andheri (East) suburb this morning. No one was injured.

Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik on Friday announced the setting up of a cultural hub in Mumbai on the lines of New York's Times Square.

It looks like the Finance Minister's appeal to bring down home prices hasn't completely fallen to deaf ears. Mumbai, where property prices have galloped over the last three years, is the first to act in accordance. Some big developers in the financial capital of the country are slashing per square foot project rates by as much as Rs 5,000.

India and Pakistan, which last played a bilateral series in 2007, squared off in multi-national events several times after 2008 but for the first time, a Pakistani cricket team will be hosted for a series after the attacks.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray and RPI leader Ramdas Athawale, a key player in the Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI's mega alliance, offered tributes at the 'Hutatma Chowk' (Martyrs Square) in south Mumbai on the occasion of the 52nd Maharashtra Day. The two leaders found themselves arriving at the venue almost at the same time today.
