Mumbai-ahmedabad Highway Fire

A chemical-laden tanker caught fire on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Wednesday, disrupting traffic movement on the busy route for a couple of hours, police said.

The incident took place between 9.30 pm and 10 pm yesterday when a police team reached Waghoba Khind after some motorists alerted them that some people hurled stones at their vehicle in a bid to rob them.

Seven people were killed after a luxury bus caught fire after colliding with a diesel tanker on Wednesday. Fourteen others were injured in the accident.

Two men were killed when the LPG tanker in which they were travelling caught fire on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway on Friday evening, police said today.
