Seven members of a family had a narrow escape when a car in which they were travelling caught fire in Maharashtra's Thane district, civic officials said on Monday.

A highly decomposed headless body of an unidentified woman, stuffed in a plastic bag was recovered from under the bridge on Mumbra bypass road in Thane, police said yesterday.

A nearly one km-long stretch of Mumbra bypass on the outskirts of Mumbai caved in this morning due to incessant rains and has been closed for vehicular traffic, police said.
