A 2,200-year-old Egyptian vase depicting the dwarf god Bes has been found to contain traces of a hallucinogenic drink. Chemical analysis revealed ingredients like wild rue, Egyptian lotus, and Cleome plants, known for their psychotropic effects. Other components, such as sesame, pine nuts, and grapes, suggest the drink was designed to mimic blood.
