Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik today said that there is no proposal before Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray yet regarding 5 percent reservations to Muslims in educational institutions in the Maharashtra.

Two days after a minister in the Maharashta coalition government said a new bill to give 5 per cent reservation for Muslims in educational institutions will be introduced in the state assembly soon, the Shiv Sena, another member of the alliance, denied any such proposal.

Congress-ruled Madhya Pradesh will come up with better "relaxations" for Muslims than Maharashtra, state's water resources minister Hukum Singh Karada said on Saturday.
