In a rare public appearance this morning, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha was present at a function to officially rename Chennai's Adyar IV Main Road, to B Ramachandra Adithanar, in a bid to woo the Nadar community ahead of the state assembly elections next year.

Centre to look into issue of CBSE textbook row on Nadars

As political parties in Tamil Nadu strongly protested the "wrong" depiction of Nadar community in a CBSE textbook, the Centre today assured it would look into the issue and do the needful.
