NSCN-IM General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah on Monday asserted that the separate flag and constitution for the Nagas, contentious issues that have stalled the peace process, are inseparable from the sovereignty of the people.

The NSCN(IM) yesterday said talks with the new central interlocutor had "failed to live up to the hype" created and been unable to resolve Naga demands for a separate flag and a Yehzabo (constitution or a chapter in the constitution).

The Centre on Tuesday informed parliament that peace talks with the armed Naga group, NSCN-IM, have reached an advanced stage. It, however, added that no time frame can be given at the moment regarding the final agreement. The group's contentious demands for a separate flag and constitution had derailed the talks last year.
