The Bombay High Court has taken notice on its own of an incident where a sessions court judge was allegedly assaulted by an assistant public prosecutor in the court premises.

Professor GN Saibaba, who was sent back to jail on December 25 after the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court cancelled his bail, has sent a four-page hand-written letter to the principal judge of the Gadchiroli district and sessions courts, seeking treatment and dietary requirements on the ground that his health is fast deteriorating.

Eight special courts have been set up for women in Nagpur district including six in Nagpur city, one in Kamptee and another in Umrer taluka, a release said in Nagpur on Monday.
