Immigration authorities today detained Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on his arrival from the US following a lookout notice issued against him by the Kolkata police.

Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel today wrote to Kolkata Police asking it to reconsider his request to withdraw the summon against him in connection with its probe into the Narada sting operation, since the matter is sub-judice and under consideration of the Calcutta High Court.

With Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordering a probe into the Narada sting operation, police have registered an FIR against Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel on a complaint filed by city Mayor and Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sovan Chattopadhyay's wife.

The Calcutta High Court on Monday constituted a three-member committee to collect video footage of a sting operation in which many leaders of West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress were allegedly shown taking bribes.

The Calcutta High Court today said that it would pass an order on Monday as to whom Narada News web portal chief Mathew Samuel would hand over his sting video tapes which purportedly show ruling Trinamool Congress leaders taking money from a fictitious company.

Mathew Samuel, chief of Narada News which carried out a sting operation against some Trinamool Congress leaders, today said in an affidavit before the Calcutta High Court that he was ready to submit unedited videos of the operation to any central agency.
