Scientists at CSIR-NGRI have found presence of Light Rare Earth Elements, key components in many electronic devices and various industrial applications, including medical technology, aerospace and defence, in Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

The US space agency is seeking innovative ideas from students for generating a novel technology that can help land heavy manned spacecrafts safely and swiftly on the surface of Red Planet.

Tech Mahindra will collaborate with WSU and its National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), the largest academic aviation R&D institution in the US, on multiple areas of engineering including composites, advanced materials and structural testing, it said in a statement.

A team of students from a Chennai College have won a contest organised by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on ideas and designs for future aircraft. The team from the Department of Aerospace, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur won third place under the foreign university team category.
