Industry expects the government to soon name a strong successor to RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, CII President Naushad Forbes said today while ruling out any serious impact on the economy and investor sentiment in view of his exit in September.

As Raghuram Rajan continues facing heat from some sections of the BJP, leading industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today backed a second term for the RBI Governor, saying he has done a great job for the country and personal attacks on him are "demeaning".

As banks continue with their efforts to recover dues worth over Rs 9,000 crore from beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya, industry body CII's President Naushad Forbes today said loan defaulters should not judged on "moral perspectives" or by their lavish lifestyle.

A delegation of industry body CII, led by its President-designate Naushad Forbes, will join Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is on a 10-day visit to the US.

Vimal Shah, Sudhir Ruparelia and Naushad Merali figure in the list which has been topped by Aliko Dangote who has a networth of $20.8 billion and is the largest cement manufacturer in sub-Saharan Africa.
