Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam's on Saturday showered lavish praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in the state capital to launch a subsidy scheme named after AIADMK matriarch J Jayalalithaa, or Amma as she was called by her supporters.

Ruling AIADMK's A Navaneethakrishnan was today declared elected in the bypoll to Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu.

The ruling AIADMK party's nominee A Navaneethakrishnan is all set to get elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha as only his nomination was found proper during scrutiny on Tuesday, said an official statement.

AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has announced that the party would field former advocate general A Navaneethakrishnan as its candidate for the July 3 Rajya Sabha election.

Nine closed circuit cameras have been installed at the five gates of the Madras High Court and other places in the complex as part of the second phase of comprehensive security system in the wake of the terrorist attack on Delhi High Court last year.
