The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charge-sheeted a naxalite in a case related to the killing of BJP leader Ratan Dubey by armed members of the CPI (Maoist) in Chhattisgarh, an official statement issued on Thursday said.

Puvarti, a Maoist-stronghold in Sukma district bordering Bijapur district, is the home village of dreaded Naxalite leader Hidma.

Twenty-nine Maoists, including a senior rebel leader - Shankar Rao, who had a bounty of Rs 25 lakh on his head - were killed by security forces during an encounter in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Tuesday afternoon.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police arrested a top Naxalite leader from the congested east Delhi district of Shahdara on Tuesday. Gopal Mishra, 48, is a commander rank officer of the CPI (Maoist).
