Naxals torched a private travel bus in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Sukma district, after asking its passengers to alight, police said today. They also fired upon an anti-landmine vehicle in which security forces had rushed to the spot to rescue the passengers.

Naxals Torch Mining Vehicles, Private Bus in Chhattisgarh's Kanker District

Naxals torched 26 vehicles at an iron ore mine in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, the action coming after they had targeted a private operator's bus in Bijapur district last night, police said. Nobody was injured in these incidents, police added.

Naxals blast CRPF bus; 12 jawans killed, 28 injured

In a major Naxal attack, 12 CRPF personnel were today killed and 28 others injured when naxals triggered a landmine blast in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. A total of 40 troops were travelling in a bus from Pushtola to Gatta, about 4 kms from here, for an operational duty when at around 1130 hours the blast took place, killing 12 of them.
