Naxals Kill Man

Naxals have killed a 27-year-old man in eastern Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district after accusing him of being a police informer, an official said on Saturday.

A 32-year-old villager was killed by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bijapur district, police said on Monday.

A 35-year-old man was killed by naxals in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, after accusing him of being a police informer, a police official said today.

The Chhattisgarh Police has ordered a probe into a clip of a "wireless message", circulating on social media, in which a man is purportedly heard telling another to kill journalists reporting on Naxalites, a senior officer said today.

The next of kin of each of the 14 CRPF personnel killed by Naxals in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, will be paid Rs 38 lakh and every injured security man will be given Rs 65,000, Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced on Tuesday.

Among those killed in Chhattisgarh's deadly Naxal attack on Saturday was Prafful Shukla, the personal security officer of Congress leader Vidya Charan Shukla. The security officer reportedly shot himself when he realised that he could not protect the man he was meant to protect.
