Assam floods 2020: Over 2,000 villages in 24 districts of the state have been inundated.Dhemaji in upper Assam and Barpeta in lower Assam are the worst-hit. In Arunachal Pradesh, low-lying areas of Pasighat and Namsai are under water. Over 70 per cent of the Kaziranga Nationak Park is also flooded.

More than four lakh have been affected in 17 of the 27 districts of the flood-hit Assam. Dhemaji and Lakhimpur in Upper Assam and Bongaigaon and Barpeta in lower Assam are the worst-hit districts.

Four people have died and over 6.5 lakh people have been affected by floods in Assam, nearly 2 lakh people being shifted to relief camps, as rescue teams by state government, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the Indian Army are trying to move people to safer areas. There are reports of people missing in some areas as well as heavy rains...
