Godrej Consumer's executive chairperson Nisaba Godrej has resigned as an independent director from the board of luggage and travel accessories maker VIP Industries, citing differences over leadership accountability and succession planning.

Sudhir Sitapati has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a B.Sc in Math with Economics Honours from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.

Nisaba Godrej is holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Adi Godrej, 75, will become Chairman Emeritus after leading the company for 17 years as Nisaba, currently Executive Director of the company, assumes the new role of Executive Chairperson on May 10, 2017.

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) reported a whopping 73.45 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 334.14 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013, on the back of robust growth in domestic business.
