As Parliament Nearly Washed Out, NDA Lawmakers Won't Take Salary

Lawmakers of the ruling NDA will give up their salaries and other allowances for the 23 days that parliament did not function in the second half of the Budget session, parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar announced on Wednesday as the government stares at a washed-out session.

I am reminded of a famous statement made by a former judge in the House of Lords, "I ask: is a man to be entitled to the wages for his work when he, with others, is doing his best to make it useless? Surely not. Wages are to be paid for services rendered, not for producing deliberate chaos."
