"No Such Evidence": CBI Rejects Officer's Fake Encounter Charge On Senior

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police of the CBI has accused a Joint Director-ranked officer of being involved in a fake encounter, a charge refuted by the agency on Friday saying "no such evidence has surfaced in the probe".

An officer in the CBI has written to the Prime Minister's Office, accusing a top officer of being involved in a "fake encounter of 14 innocent persons". The allegations come a year after the country's top investigating agency saw a bitter, public fight between its then top two officers.
