The NSCN(IM) yesterday said talks with the new central interlocutor had "failed to live up to the hype" created and been unable to resolve Naga demands for a separate flag and a Yehzabo (constitution or a chapter in the constitution).

While the Centre is hoping that the appointment of former IB Special Director AK Mishra as interlocutor will restart the Naga peace talks, it hasn't been able to appoint him because former Nagaland Governor RN Ravi is yet to relinquish the position.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that "successful" talks with NSCN (I-M) has started a journey of "walking together" and will lead to the development of not only Nagaland but the entire northeast region.

Apex tribal council Naga Hoho has denied media reports that Naga civil societies, NPF MLAs and NSCN(I-M) leaders met at Dimapur recently to chalk out strategies for the coming Assembly election in Manipur.
