Ahead of imposing a ban on fishing in the state coastline for the annual mass nesting of Olive Ridley Turtles, the Odisha government has prepared an action plan to ensure protection of the endangered species.

The Odisha government on Saturday imposed a seven-month fishing ban along its coast to protect endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles which come to the state beaches for mass nesting every winter, an official said.
