Odisha Mining Corporation Limited has released job notification for recruiting eligible candidates to the posts of Deputy Manager and Manager.

State-run Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on Tuesday paid an interim dividend of Rs 500 crore to the state government for 2016-17 financial year. Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick handed over the cheque of Rs 500 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Navaratna PSU National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has been granted Pottangi Bauxite Mines, in Koraput district of Odisha, where the company's 22,75,000-tonne lumina refinery is located.

The development follows allotment of a coal mine in Jharkhand to NLC.

Mining conglomerate Vedanta on Tuesday said it will initiate steps for gradual closure of its alumina refinery at Lanjigarh in Odisha mainly due to shortage of raw material and absence of bauxite linkage within state.
