Cabinet clears divestment of 10.82% stake in SAIL

The Cabinet also approved a 21 per cent import duty on power equipment used in projects of at least 1,000 MW. The proposal to divest SAIL is be the first disinvestment proposal in this fiscal and it comes after the lukewarm response to ONGC sell off last fiscal. The government holds 85.82 per cent in the country's largest steel producing company.
