Old Delhi Building Collapse

Hours after the collapse of an old four-storey building in Sabzi Mandi in north Delhi, the area's civic body today ordered a probe into the incident and decided to reassess the condition of all dangerous buildings across its six zones.

An old four-storey building collapsed in central Delhi's Karol Bagh area on Wednesday although no one was injured in the incident, the police said.

Two persons were killed and as many injured after a three-storey building collapsed in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi this morning.

At least five people, four of them women, were killed and seven injured after a four-storey building collapsed in the Vishnu Garden area of West Delhi on Saturday night. A nine-year old's body was among the ones recovered from the debris.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Delhi unit has attacked the city government for "failing" to implement the redevelopment plan for the Walled City and held it partly responsible for the collapse of a three-storey building in Bara Hindu Rao in which a father-son duo was killed today.

At least seven people were killed and 19 others injured when an old three-storeyed building collapsed near Old Delhi's Jama Masjid area. The incident took place at Chandni Mahal area at around 8 pm. Police say many people are still feared trapped under the debris.
