One-rank Promotion

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced one-rank promotion for 14 policemen, who displayed "historic valour" during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to capture terrorist Ajmal Kasab.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said on Monday the government was formulating a policy to award one-rank promotion for any defence or police personnel from the state winning a gallantry award in war or in peace time
