Oting Nagaland Firing Case

The Nagaland Assembly today unanimously resolved to demand a repeal of the controversial Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 from the northeast, especially from Nagaland.

A statement issued by the village council of Oting has clarified that an envelope containing Rs 18,30,00 was brought to them by a Minister and the Deputy Commissioner of the district.

Thirteen villagers and a soldier were killed at an Indo-Myanmar border district in Nagaland as a counter-insurgency operation went awry on Saturday, sources said. Another villager died as a mob attacked the Assam Rifles camp.
