The Supreme Court is slated to hear Friday the politically-sensitive Rs 64 crore Bofors pay-off case in which CBI earlier this year filed an appeal after a 13-year delay against the Delhi High Court decision quashing charges against all the accused.

In a fresh turn of events, the Supreme Court today agreed to hear an appeal filed by BJP leader Ajay Kumar Agarwal challenging a 2005 Delhi High Court order quashing charges against Europe-based industrialists -- the Hinduja brothers -- in the politically-sensitive Bofors pay-off scam case.

Ottavio Quattrocchi, the man the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI had been trying to lay its hands on since the time the Bofors scam came to light in 1986, died in Milan on Friday of a heart attack.
