The UPA government is likely to agree to a discussion in Parliament over a former CAG official charge that BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi had called audit officials to his house for preparation of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on 2G scam that indicted the government.

NDTV has now accessed an internal note which indicates that the government auditor took a cue from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) while calculating the revenue loss to the government.

The telecom scam is being studied by the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) which is headed by BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi. A letter dated July 13, 2010 states that when the auditors were working on their report, Mr Joshi called the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

In the latest twist to the 2G spectrum scam, the Congress has tried to turn the tables on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They have highlighted a letter that senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi wrote in 2007 to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh advising him against auctioning 2G spectrum.

The note that questioned P Chidambaram's actions during the telecom scam continues to cause political aftershocks. The BJP alleges that a copy of the note was tampered with before it was submitted to a parliamentary committee studying the telecom scam.
