Pakistan's former envoy to the US Husain Haqqani was on Monday permitted to travel abroad by the Supreme Court, which is probing a memo sent to Washington saying President Asif Ali Zardari had feared a military takeover in the wake of Osama bin Laden's killing last year.

Businessman Mansoor Ijaz, who plays a starring role in Pakistan's political scandal Memogate, has delayed his trip home. Mr Ijaz's lawyers say he is being threatened. He has applied for a visa in Switzerland. He will not be in Pakistan before January 25, where he is expected to testify in the Supreme Court.
