Pak Detains Indian Fishermen

The Pakistani authorities detained 16 Indian fishermen yesterday for alleged violation of the country's maritime boundary, security officials said.

More than 470 Indians, including 418 fishermen, are detained in Pakistani jails, according to a government report submitted before the country's Supreme Court.

The Coast Guard today apprehended 26 Pakistani fishermen and seized their five fishing boats off Gujarat coast near Kutch as they crossed the Indian territorial waters.
