They had planned to watch an action-packed movie with exhilarating sequences dodging bullets and bombs. Little did they know they will star in a parallel movie, struggling to dodge crackers going off all around their seats in the cinema hall.

Legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen, known for his contribution to Bengali parallel cinema, died today at his home in Kolkata. He was 95. He died at around 10:30 am due to age-related ailments.

"You have to live through it, make your own sacrifices. You can't keep doing that when there is no support whatsoever. Even if not the industry, if there was government support like they did with the NFDC from the 70s to the 80s," Abhay said.

"Fortunately, I always have people ready to produce my films. It's always that I take time to start my film. Producers also know that I am very choosy with my films," said Nishikant Kamat
